Commercia: one point-of-sale system for till, stock and end-of-day.

A web app for point of sale, built with Odoo. It replaces the disconnected till, stock book and end-of-day spreadsheet with one system the whole shop runs on.

The challenge.

  • Independent retailers were ringing up sales on disconnected tills, with stock counts and daily takings reconciled by hand.
  • Staff needed to take a payment, update inventory and print a receipt in seconds at a busy counter.
  • Owners wanted live visibility of sales and stock without exporting spreadsheets at close.
  • Reporting had to answer the owner's daily questions — takings, best sellers, low stock — without an analyst.

Our approach.

  • Built the till interface with Odoo for fast, touch-friendly sales entry.
  • Backed it with a REST API so every sale, refund and stock movement is recorded against one catalogue.
  • Wired payment capture and receipting into the checkout flow.
  • Gave owners a sales-and-stock view that updates as transactions land.
  • Structured daily and periodic reporting around the questions owners actually ask at close.

The outcome.

  • Staff ring up sales and take payment from one screen instead of separate tills and notebooks.
  • Stock decrements automatically as items sell, so counts stay honest.
  • Owners see the day's takings and low-stock lines without touching a spreadsheet.
  • The owner answers takings, best-seller and stock questions from the dashboard at close.
